PSD bends
i always try to bend the images as one-layer PSD files but it often doesn't work; this was one of those very rare PSDs where bending actually moved the pixels around rather than causing the standard horizontal banding effects. i did four bends that way, then tried something different: i copied the image, pasted it on top of itself, and resaved it as a two-layer PSD file but this time using CMYK rather than RGB. so far, i don't think i like CMYK bends quite as much. because it was a two-layer image and i had two different versions of photoshop (each of which renders the bent files differently), i was able to quickly produce a lot of results while only editing the file a few times.
