bad taste is trying to organize a tour for mid-may through mid-june! just a microtour of the midwest, sticking to shows on weekends because our broke asses can't get enough time away from our corporate slave day jobs... if you can help us set up a show, etc, please get in touch with your favorite bt dreamboat. tour info can be found at the
tour page. i will try to keep this as up-to-date as possible.
you know, for a tool that's supposedly revolutionizing the way people publish on the internet, i'm having one shit of a time getting blogger to even post my updates half the time. come on! if i'd just hand-coded my html the old-fashioned way i could've updated this damn page 5x by now.
the show last night was pretty good! too bad nobody was there to hear it... i counted 14 including the promoter, & 5 of us performed.
first off bobby vomit thrilled & confused with his hoosier turntablism... i thought he was just doing a sound check but he just kept going like a pink branded bunny & eventually we figured out that obviously he was performing.
i was up next; people seemed to enjoy my bush cutups & other sillyness... someday, i swear, i'll be playing at some big party & when i start playing all my material about taking off your clothes, people will actually take their clothes off. i guess i can dream...
then came noiseman433 with a classic noise set: tons of fx & a big slab of metal that he pounded, rattled, bent, & abused. there must've been a contact mic involved because he'd rattle the thing then tweak the fuck out of his pedals for a few minutes, then pound on the metal slab some more. there was also some informative material about murmurs. i was sad when i missed his set at indytron; i was very glad to see him perform this time. we got some video & i have it on minidisc; we need to check out those recordings...
finally melk the g6-49 played... they're a 2-piece w/drums & guitar, but definitely more interesting & avant garde than just some boring punk band. they would rock out ambient style with some nice feedback n noise, then suddenly things would go crazy, the drummer would wail like animal on the muppet show, & they would get super noisy for a minute. i usually am bored to tears by rock music & rock instruments but these guys are definitely alright.
(c'mon blogger, work dammit)
